Discussion Essay (Perbaikan)
Advantages and Disadvantages of Fast Food
Fast food provides the convenience for people. Today, most of people who are living in cities, especially people at work, have a less time to cook and also have full schedule everyday. Therefore, fast food is the better one and become their favorite way to save their time . Not only people are who busy at work, but also students. College students have less time at home beside many tasks which have to finish first so that they decided to buy fast food. Well, there are advantages and disadvantages of fast food.
The first advantages of fast food is saving time. As we know, there is no waiting for fast food. It serves just a few minutes. Especially for busy people, who are do not have time to cook, they can buy fast food easily and fastly. In addition, if they are in hurry to go to work, they just order it by calling on the phone. They would not want to wait for a long time to get some foods and go everywhere to buy it. It can save their time more wisely rather than cooking by themselves.  The other side, for students  who studying from morning until evening, they can do the same way. They have a less time at home, and also for cooking food. They have many tasks which have to do, washing clothes, and also house work. So, they like to order fast food. Clark, S (2010) said that fast food restaurants are located nearly everywhere, it provides customers with simple meals without they need to spend time travelling far distances just to purchase food. It also means the customer does not have to spend a large amount of time inside and outside kitchen gathering ingredients and  trying to prepare for a single meal, meaning time required for kitchen cleaning is also not required. Additionally, Wolverson M, N (2009) said that fast food are always prepared at fast speed, meaning the consumer does not need to wait for a long time just for their order.
The second advantages of fast food is cheaper than home cooked food. It is cheaper because the constumers just order it and pay the cost. They do not need to pay travelling cost, buying ingredients, and also paying gas. In contrast, cooked food is higher because the customer needs to buy everything to make what they want. Additionally, they have to go to market, paying travelling fee, and paying gas. Not only that, but also they must cook at home, and also wasting their time. For busy costumers are wasting their time. For them, time is money. According to Bose D, N.N, caused the customers prefer to fast food than home cooked food. Fast food restaurants can provide customers with simple large meal sets with minimal cost. However, Brown J (2009) said that this easily lead to customers eating excessive fast food.
On the other hand, fast food also has disadvantages side. The first disadvantages of fast food is for health condition of the costumers. Fast food are generally made with oil and addictives, such as salt, sugar , and etc. These  increases the risk of developing diseases. Then, for busy people they do not care about it. In addition, when the costumers consumed too much fast food, they might become obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and also strokes. In addition, it consists of too much calories which caused deadly diseases too. Bose D, N. D said that customers may also consume excessive fast food because it is cheap to buy in large quantity. Also, Brown ,J (2009) said that research has been done proving it is more likely for people living near fast food branches to become obese.
The second disadvantages of fast food is losing of tradition eating together. As we know that eating fast food especially in restaurant is very fast so that most of people cannot have time to eat together, and also chat while eating. Not only that, but also for the parents have full schedule at work, they do not have more time to gather with their children, and lose opportunity to talk and share together. It can decrease the relationship between parents and children. They rarely get together and share both of them. According to Bose, D. N.D, this eventually lead to families losing much gathering time and thinning the bonds between family member. Additionally, Brown J, (2009) said that many children today  prefer eating fast food with their friends of their age rather than with their parents, this could also decrease the amount of time where the whole family actually gather.
The last disadvantages of fast food is the taste. Fast food may be cheap. However, the taste is not also pleasant than home cooked food. Home cooked food is tastes better than fast food. Fast food is almost too much sugar, salt, pepper, oil, and etc. We cannot ask how much flavours are and how the taste is. However, home cooked food is easier. We can make what we want to make and also the taste. In addition, home cooked food is more healthy than fast food because we cooked it by ourselves, and also we know about it. Then, Wolverson M, N. (2009) Said that excessives artificial flavouring can also lead to many health problems as the customers is not consuming the addictives with moderations
In conclusion, fast food may be convenient, cheaper, saving time, however, it also has disadvantages which caused the risks of diseases. We need to eat food that consists of vitamins for our health. In addition, we do not focus on the tastes, but the benefit for our body.   Overall, it is much healthier to eat from home cooked food because from the tastes we can make how much the flavouring we want. Not too much sugar, salt, pepper, and etc. In despite of  we need much money to buy ingredients, and also wasting time to cook it, however it saves for health.  In my opinion, I prefer to choose home cooked food. My reasons is it is healthier than fast food, we can make what kinds of taste we want, and also we cook by ourselves. We need to think twice before eating fast food.
